A one minute charge powers up the active pre-amplifier for a full day of playing time. This unit mounts inside of the instrument and requires a ½” hole in the lower block. It also needs to be used with a piezo element specifically designed for use with an active pre-amp. I recommend using the 2 1/4” long Fishman active element designed and built specifically for ukuleles. See the tech page of this website for more info on the Mi-Si pre-amp unit.  The unit comes with a 110 volt charger. The pickup element IS  purchased separately.

Custom Length active pickup FISHMAN piezo elements

These elements are designed to be used in conjunction with an active pre-amplifier, I use the Mi-Si pre-amp unit. The lengths of the elements are 2 1/4” and are sensitive across their entire length so any string spacing works as long as it is less than 2 1/4”.
