Cherry Tobacco Soprano
CHERRY TOBACCO SOPRANO
This is a new Pohaku Soprano Ukulele. It is what a good players soprano should be, a simple and back to the basics style of instrument. It’s like playing an old 50’s instrument but it is new and shiny. The body on this one is Cherry wood with a light curl figure, the soundboard is Genuine Honduran Mahogany as is the neck.
The 13 fret soprano scale length fingerboard is rosewood. The fingerboard has a herring-bone stripe inlaid up it’s length. There are no front position markers. There are small white side dots at the 5,7,10 & 12th fret positions.
It’s sound is bright and lively with good volume and a full complex tone. It’s fretwork is second to none and care is taken in the set-up so that playability is easy and intonation is accurate.
The smooth and shiny lacquer finish is highlighted by the amber and tobacco sunburst. The neck is silky smooth.
The bridge is rosewood and it’s string slots are accurately made with varying width string slots for long life and good functionality.
The back is arched on both axis into a slightly bowled shape which adds to reflecting the sound out of the cavity and makes the instrument uniquely comfortable to hold.
The Scale Length is 13 5/8” and the instruments overall length is about 22”. It is super light at 14 1/2 ounces, but while very light it is solidly and accurately built. It is precise and delicate - yet sturdy at the same time!
This instrument comes with either a zippered coffin style semi-hard-shell-case or a latched hard case. You tell us what you want.
Shipping is via Fed-Ex Ground and is $50. The instrument is sent in a safe and sturdy re-useable ukulele mailer.
